ALL VERDANSK EASTER EGGS IN WARZONE SEASON 3 | ZOMBIES, BUNKERS, NUKE EVENT, & MORE
Verdansk has returned to Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3 for nearly a month now, bringing with it a treasure trove of Easter Eggs for players to discover. From nostalgic nods to the original Warzone era operators to references of the infamous Nuke event and the mysterious Bunker 11, the developers have packed this beloved map with secrets waiting to be uncovered. Join us as we explore all the known Easter Eggs you can find throughout Verdansk in Warzone Season 3!
CLASSIC ROZE STAIRWELLS
Exploring the staircases across Verdansk, keen-eyed players will spot graffiti reading "Roze Was Here" scrawled on the walls. This clever reference recalls the infamous original Roze skin that dominated the Warzone meta due to its poor visibility in dark areas. Despite visibility updates, the Roze skin remained controversial throughout the original Warzone's lifecycle. For those feeling nostalgic, Roze has made her triumphant return in the Season 3 Battle Pass, though thankfully with better visibility this time around!
BONEYARD LOADOUT CASUALTY
Head over to the Boneyard POI where the classic Multiplayer map "Scrapyard" is located, and you'll come across a humorous and tragic sight - a soldier crushed beneath a loadout drop. This unfortunate operator, still clutching a C9 SMG, serves as a comedic callback to the early Warzone days when loadout drops would instantly eliminate any player unlucky enough to be caught beneath them. Check the area surrounding this unlucky soul for some decent ground loot including weapons, armor plates, and tactical equipment.
SECRET TEDDY BEARS
Hidden throughout Verdansk are adorable teddy bears waiting to be discovered by observant players. While these plush companions don't currently offer any gameplay advantages when interacted with, they represent something far more meaningful. These teddy bears were originally added as a tribute to a developer's daughter who tragically passed away, and have since become a staple Easter Egg across Call of Duty titles. There's always the possibility that these bears might become interactive in future updates, potentially offering rewards for finding them all, so keep your eyes peeled during your deployments!
VERDANSK NUKE WRECKAGE
One of the most significant Easter Eggs can be found near the Stadium - the wreckage of a missile that bears striking resemblance to the nuke from the end of Warzone's Black Ops Cold War Season 3. The presence of this undetonated missile has reignited discussions about whether the original nuke event is canonical within the Modern Warfare and Black Ops timelines. Adding to the mystery, observant players have spotted numerous calendars throughout Verdansk with April 22nd circled - the date of the original nuke event. Is this simply a nostalgic reference, or does it hint at deeper connections between the timelines? The debate continues!
ZOMBIES ROYALE PURPLE VIAL
While exploring the Quarry POI, players might stumble across a distinctive purple vial resting on a bunk bed. Veterans of Warzone will immediately recognize this as a callback to the Zombies Royale limited-time mode that debuted during the 'Haunting of Verdansk' Halloween event. In that mode, these vials were crucial for resurrecting fallen players transformed into zombies. The vials made appearances during both the Modern Warfare and Cold War eras, as well as on Rebirth Island and Al Mazrah. Given this Easter Egg's presence, we wouldn't be surprised to see another 'Haunting of Verdansk' event materialize during the Black Ops 6 lifecycle!
THE RED DOOR ON VERDANSK
Venture to a specific building within the Quarry POI and you'll discover an ominous Red Door - a feature that played a significant role during Verdansk '84 in the Black Ops Cold War era and later appeared during Urzikstan's Christmas update. Currently, this door stands as a non-functional reminder of Warzone's past, but many players speculate it will become operational in future updates. Once activated, these doors would likely serve as teleportation points to secret rooms filled with high-tier loot. The current inactive state may be intentional to preserve the classic Verdansk experience before introducing gameplay variations later in the season.
VODIANOY SHIP ZOMBIES
Near the Prison POI along the coastline, players can find the grim remains of zombies washing ashore - a direct reference to the Vodianoy ship that docked in this location during Verdansk '84. Longtime fans will recall how this cursed vessel triggered small zombie outbreaks that eventually overwhelmed Verdansk, necessitating the nuclear response that forever changed the Warzone landscape. The presence of these undead corpses might foreshadow another zombie-themed update later in the Verdansk lifecycle. Could history repeat itself with another containment breach? Only time will tell!
PAWN TAKES PAWN SHACKS
The legendary marketing campaign that heralded Black Ops Cold War's arrival - "Pawn Takes Pawn" - has left its mark on the returned Verdansk. Scattered around the map are the same mysterious shacks that once contained teasers for Cold War, now secured behind keypads displaying "Keypad Inactive" when approached. These locations played a crucial role in one of gaming's most innovative reveal campaigns, sending the community on real-world and in-game scavenger hunts. Initially, these keypads showed no messages at all before changing to "Inactive," suggesting they might become accessible later in the season. Could these shacks eventually host teasers for Black Ops 7? Or perhaps they'll unlock new in-game rewards? We're watching these locations closely!
BUNKER 11 & INACTIVE KEYPADS
The mysterious bunkers of Verdansk have returned, including the legendary Bunker 11, though currently all remain locked behind keypads reading "Inactive." These underground facilities were central to some of the original Warzone's most elaborate Easter Eggs, including telephone puzzles that revealed access codes. Interestingly, the official Verdansk return trailer briefly displayed what appeared to be a bunker code, strongly suggesting these facilities will become accessible later in the season. When they do open, we expect a return of the telephone code hunt or perhaps entirely new puzzle mechanics. The rewards inside could be substantial - from high-tier loot to exclusive cosmetics or even story revelations!
UPCOMING CONTENT & REWARDS
As Season 3 progresses toward its Reloaded update, rumors suggest major changes coming to Verdansk's landscape. The Train Station is expected to fully open, potentially reintroducing the subway fast-travel system that connected to the Bank location in the original Warzone. Additionally, leaks indicate the Stadium might finally become fully explorable, opening areas previously inaccessible to players.
The developers seem to be taking inspiration from their approach to Fortune's Keep, gradually introducing Easter Eggs and quests that reference the map's history while adding fresh challenges. We anticipate a mix of nostalgic callbacks and entirely new puzzles leading to exclusive rewards such as Operator Skins, Weapon Blueprints, or even Animated Weapon Camos. Hopefully, these quests will strike a better balance than the notoriously tedious Area 99 Nuke Easter Egg from previous seasons.
