The excitement for Black Ops 6 continues to grow as Season 2 is set to release alongside the much-anticipated The Tomb DLC for Zombies. This map promises to bring a thrilling combination of Origins and Chaos style gameplay, with new challenges, side easter eggs, Wonder Weapons, and an all-new main quest. But what will players discover when they venture into the Dig Site to search for the powerful Sentinel Artifact? Here’s everything you need to know about this upcoming DLC!
The Tomb DLC - A Look at the Story
The Requiem crew, fresh off their victory with the Obscurus Altilium, heads to the Excavation Site to investigate the Sentinel Artifact. Tragically, they arrive too late to save Gabriel Krafft, but they manage to obtain crucial intel before his death. Krafft warns the crew about the danger of the Sentinel Artifact and advises them to proceed with caution.
But things take an unexpected turn as it's revealed that Richtofen is also after the Sentinel Artifact, and to make matters worse, he’s revealed to be the adopted son of Krafft. As the Requiem crew heads deeper into the Dig Site, they’ll uncover an ancient burial ground dating back to 2500 B.C.E. What secrets lie buried here, and what dangers await them?
What’s New in The Tomb?
- New Main Quest: Embark on an exciting new journey to uncover the secrets of the Dig Site and the Sentinel Artifact.
- Wonder Weapons: Rumors suggest that staff-like Wonder Weapons will return, offering new powers to aid in the battle against the undead.
- Side Easter Eggs: Discover hidden secrets in the map, with plenty of side quests to keep you busy.
- Chaos/Origins Style Gameplay: With gameplay elements reminiscent of Ancient Evil from Black Ops 4, expect a mix of chaos and strategy to survive.
- New Enemies: Alongside the Doppel-Gast, new zombie types will challenge players as they dig deeper into the tomb.
Release Date & New Features
The Tomb DLC 2 is set to release on January 28th, alongside the launch of Season 2 for both Black Ops 6 and Warzone. With this DLC, players will have the chance to experience four Round Based maps in Zombies before the end of January, making this a highly anticipated release for fans.
Treyarch has confirmed that The Tomb will provide an experience similar to their launch map, Liberty Falls, with a focus on replayability and exciting new challenges. Expect tighter spaces, new enemies, and side easter eggs to discover as you battle through this eerie and expansive map.
The Tomb: A Link to Origins?
Could The Tomb be linked to Origins in more ways than one? It seems that the Dig Site could have ties to the ancient world of Origins, with symbols from the Crazy Place appearing throughout the map. Additionally, fans speculate that the Wonder Weapons may have a similar design to the iconic Staffs from Origins, adding even more to the connection.
As players venture into the depths of the Dig Site, they’ll also face new challenges, including the return of the Doppel-Gast and possibly other new enemy types. The map’s proximity to Citadelle Des Morts raises even more questions about what players will encounter as they explore.
